Al-Qaeda?

[Update] Quase de certeza. Esperemos que Blair seja de uma fibra diferente da de Zapatero. Mais informações no Times Online:
Sarah Reid, 23, a student doing work experience, was on the carriage next door to the one which was struck by the explosion at Aldgate. Speaking after the ordeal, having been led out down the track, near Liverpool Street station, she told how she saw a carriage ripped apart with the roof blown off. [...] Ms Reid said the explosion happened at 8.50am but she was not able to get off the carriage until 9.30am. Describing being led away from the scene, she said: "A carriage was split in two, all jagged, and without a roof, just open. I saw bodies, I think."

Madrid, 11/3, outra vez...

[Update] De acordo com a CNN e a SkyNews:
A group calling itself the "Secret Organization group of al-Qaeda of Jihad in Europe" claims London blasts.

[Update] No New York Times, mais detalhes sobre a reinvidicação:
A group calling itself ''The Secret Organization of al-Qaida in Europe'' posted a claim of responsibility for Thursday's blasts in London, saying they were in retaliation for Britain's involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan.[...]The statement, which also threatened attacks in Italy and Denmark, was published on a Web site popular with Islamic militants[...]

Algumas citações do comunicado da al-Qaeda:
''Rejoice, Islamic nation. Rejoice, Arab world. The time has come for vengeance against the Zionist crusader government of Britain in response to the massacres Britain committed in Iraq and Afghanistan,[...]''the heroic mujahedeen carried out a blessed attack in London, and now Britain is burning with fear and terror, from north to south, east to west[...]''We warned the British government and the British people repeatedly. We have carried out our promise and carried out a military attack in Britain after great efforts by the heroic mujahedeen over a long period to ensure its success. ''We continue to warn the governments of Denmark and Italy and all crusader governments that they will receive the same punishment if they do not withdraw their troops from Iraq and Afghanistan,[...]

[Update] Presidente Bush sobre os atentados (na CNN):
"The contrast between what we've seen on the TV screens here, what's taken place in London, what's taken place here is incredibly vivid to me.

"On the one hand, we got people here who are working to alleviate poverty and to help rid the world of the pandemic of AIDS and that are working on ways to have a clean environment.

"And on the other hand, you've got people killing innocent people.

"And the contrast couldn't be clearer between the intentions and the hearts of those of us who care deeply about human rights and human liberty, and those who kill, those who've got such evil in their heart that they will take the lives of innocent folks.

"The war on terror goes on. I was most impressed by the resolve of all the leaders in the room. Their resolve is as strong as my resolve. And that is, we will not yield to these people, will not yield to the terrorists.

"We will find them. We will bring them to justice. And at the same time we will spread an ideology of hope and compassion that will overwhelm their ideology of hate."
